Pulwama, Oct 20 (KNO): Athletes utilising the indoor stadium in Tral area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district are demanding power backup facilities.
Numerous players who frequent the stadium spoke to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) and said that during morning and evening hours, power outages have been disrupting their training sessions, plunging the stadium into darkness and causing inconveniences for the players.
According to these athletes, the installation of a generator or solar power panel is imperative to ensure an uninterrupted power supply.
Shakir Ahmad, one of the players, said that frequent power cuts have become a significant issue, hindering their practice sessions. He mentioned the potential risks to players during sudden power cuts while engaged in games.
Sameer Ahmad, another athlete, highlighted the challenges posed by the lack of scheduled power supply, particularly during the winter months. He called for the need for a generator or solar power panel to maintain consistent power. This will prevent athletes from returning home without adequate practice, he said.
These players revealed that many of them attend school or college during the day, and have limited time for practice, usually in the evenings. They stressed the importance of regular practice for nurturing talent and excelling in various sports.
The players have earnestly appealed to the relevant authorities to address the issue promptly and arrange for the installation of a generator or solar power panel at the stadium—(KNO)
